I've seen people ask this at least a few times. How do you deal the maximum amount of damage with Zeus? Most of the confusion is centered around his spell "Static Field", which deal 11% of the afflicted unit's CURRENT HP.
The answer is simply always lowest to highest damage for maximum damage.
Here is an example:
Passive Spell Specifications:
- The damage from Static Field is dealt before the damage from the used spell
- 11% of current HP as magic damage
Target Hero Assumptions:
25% Magic Resist
2000 HP
Spell Damage/Cooldown at max level:
145 dmg / 2 sec CD --> 108.75 (post reduction)
350 dmg / 6 sec CD --> 262.5 (post reduction)
460 dmg / 120 sec CD-> 345 (post reduction)
Scenario 1:
Ult: 220*.75 + 345 = 165 + 345 = 510 // HP = 1490
Bolt: 163.9 *.75 + 262.5 = 122.925 + 262.5 = 385.425 // HP = 1104.575
Arc: 121.5 * .75 + 108.75 = 91.127 + 108.75 = 199.877 // HP = 904.697
Scenario 2:
Arc: 220*.75 + 108.75 = 165 + 108.75 = 273.75 // HP = 1726.25
Bolt: 189.8875 * .75 + 262.5 = 142.41 + 262.5 = 414.915 // HP = 1321.334
Ult: 145.345 * .75 + 345 = 109.01 + 345 = 454.01 // HP = 867.324
It's also important to note that the order of Arc & Bolt should be discretionary.
For instance: if you have exactly 6 seconds and the target is low on HP (i.e. passive won't do as much damage), then you might want to go Bolt -> Arc -> Bolt because Bolt deals more than double Arc's damage.
E.g.1
- Target has 1000 HP remaining, 25% resist; Your skills are Max Level
- Arc -> Bolt -> Arc = 331.21 HP Left
- Bolt -> Arc -> Bolt = 189.105 HP Left (better option)
E.g.2
- Target is full health at 2000 HP, 25% resist; Your skills are Max Level
- Arc -> Bolt -> Arc = 1103.575 HP Left
- Bolt -> Arc -> Bolt = 961.46 HP Left (better option)
E.g.3
- Target is super buff at 3000 HP, 25% resist; Your skills are Max Level
- Arc -> Bolt -> Arc = 1875.932 HP Left
- Bolt -> Arc -> Bolt = 1733.81 HP Left (damn, still better option)
Other considerations:
- Your ult and Bolt grant True Sight in an AoE (900 respectively) and Grant Vision in an AoE (1000 for Day/Night) for 3 seconds
- Bolt mini-stuns
